REVISED PROGRAM FOR 2020

As most golfers would be aware the 2020 golfing season has been affected by the COVID19 pandemic. Golf Wide Bay has reviewed its 2020 program taking into account the wishes of affiliated Clubs and the need to hold the major district events. Some events scheduled for the second half of the year have been cancelled and others rescheduled. The GWB pennants for 2020 will not be played. This decision has been made following advice from the Clubs that other events (Club events) are their priority. This is understandable due to the effect of restrictions that Clubs have complied with over the last few months and the effect on their programs.

Hopefully the revised 2020 program will not be affected by a second wave of COVID19 and the restrictions that will go with it if it occurs.

The major district events will be:

August 23:              Golf Wide Bay Junior Open & Closed Championships @ Maryborough.

September 20:      Golf Wide Bay Sand Greens Championships @ Mt. Perry.

November 14/15: Golf Wide Bay Open & Closed Championships Men’s & Ladies @ Maryborough.

As you will see when you peruse the full calendar priority has been given to the smaller Clubs in the district for open days. Also the Junior Opens are Greg Norman qualifiers and as such are also prioritised.

Golf Wide Bay is hopeful that the rest of the golfing year is not affected like the first six months and that golfers everywhere can enjoy the game for the rest of 2020.
